About Helgafel

ABOUT US

Helgafel Heathen Fellowship is a modern religious organization located in the Pacific Northwest, just outside of Seattle, Washington. Our goal is to build a positive community around the promotion and celebration of pre-Christian, pagan spiritual and cultural traditions found in the Baltic, Scandinavian, and Germanic regions of Europe and their diaspora.

Helgafel Heathen Fellowship is an inclusive organization open to anyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, or ancestry. We stand with other inclusive organizations who denounce white supremacy, and we abhor the use of our religious symbols to further the cause of hatred. All are welcome to celebrate with us, regardless of tradition, race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexual orientation, or family structure. Our membership includes LGBTQ, Trans, BIPOC, Neurodivergent, and Non-Binary, so if you are not comfortable with this type of inclusion, we may not be the group for you.

OUR GROUP HISTORY

Helgafel was started in 2019 by a group of friends who had moved from Central Texas to the state of Washington. Originally named Cascadian Heathen Hearth, the group underwent changes and developments during the Covid-19 pandemic, and then decided to change its name to Helgafel Heathen Fellowship in 2022.

WHAT WE DO

Our fellowship hosts eight seasonal festivals every year. Four of these are open to the public, while the other for are kept private for our members. Additionally, Helgafel Heathen Fellowship hosts periodic workshops and meetups to foster knowledge and friendship among the growing pagan community here in Washington.
